Trend Radar is a social media trend discovery service: a website, a web app and an Android app. This page explains what data we receive, why, and how to delete it. We collect only what the service needs to work, we do not sell data and we do not show ads.

Who is responsible

Service operator: [ЗАПОЛНИТЬ: service owner — company or full name]. For any data questions, write to [ЗАПОЛНИТЬ: почта поддержки / support email].

What data we receive

Without an account. You can use the app without logging in. Your search history, profile analyses, niches, watchlist and settings then stay only in your phone or browser storage and never reach our server. Only the query to be processed is sent to the server (see below).

Account. Access is currently invite-only: the team issues logins. We store your login, display name, creation date and a password hash (salted scrypt; the password itself is never stored and is not visible even to us).

Sync after login. To show your queries on both your phone and the web app, the server keeps: up to 20 recent searches (query text and the trends found), up to 20 profile analyses (the link or description you entered and the result), your niches, your watchlist and the time of changes.

Account activity. Last login time, number of logins and when you last opened the website and the app, so the team can see who uses the service.

Access request. If you sent a request with the “Sign up” button: name, contact (email or Telegram), niche description, time and IP address.

Technical data. IP address — for daily search limits and password brute-force protection; counters reset every day. Server logs (request path, time, IP, search text, login name on sign-in) — for debugging, kept for a limited time and rotated. Answers to identical queries are cached for up to 12 hours without being linked to an account.

Cookies and device storage. After login the website sets one session cookie tr_web (HttpOnly, 30 days). The app stores a login token instead. We set no advertising or tracking cookies.

We do not access your social media accounts, contacts, photos, location or payment data. The app only needs internet access.

Why

  • to find trends for your query and match trends to your profile or niche;
  • to show your queries and niches on every device where you are logged in;
  • to protect the service: limits, brute-force protection, blocking abusers;
  • to answer requests and messages.

Legal basis: performance of the contract (Terms of Use) and our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure. Data is not used for advertising and is not sold.

Who we share data with

Only services that trend search cannot work without, and only as much as needed. Your login, name and password are never shared with them.

  • OpenAI (GPT) — search text, the profile link or description and public data of the videos found — to analyse and explain trends. OpenAI Privacy Policy.
  • YouTube Data API (Google) — search queries and channel addresses — to find videos. Trend Radar uses YouTube API Services; by using it you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and the Google Privacy Policy applies. YouTube videos in the app play in the embedded YouTube player and thumbnails load from Google servers, so Google sees your IP address and may set its own cookies.
  • Instagram Graph API (Meta) — topic hashtags — to measure popularity. We have no access to your Instagram. Meta Privacy Policy.
  • Google Trends and Pinterest — public statistics of rising searches; none of your data is sent there.
  • The website you link for a profile analysis — our server opens that page to read its topic.
  • Hosting — a rented server (VPS) in the Netherlands: it runs the website and the API and stores all account data.

OpenAI, Google and Meta are mostly based in the USA, so your query text may be processed outside your country. We disclose data to authorities only when required by law.

How long we keep data

  • account, synced queries, niches and activity — while the account exists; erased immediately when the account is deleted;
  • without an account — only on your device, until you clear it or uninstall the app;
  • access requests — until a decision is made; email us to delete one sooner;
  • answer cache — up to 12 hours, limit counters — one day, server logs — a limited rotation period;
  • if purchases are introduced, their records are kept as long as accounting law requires.

How to delete your account and data

In the app or the web app: “Profile” → “Delete account” → confirm with your password. Without the app — on the account deletion page (login and password). The account, all queries, niches, watchlist and activity data are deleted immediately and permanently, and all sessions on all devices are closed.

Forgot your password? Write to [ЗАПОЛНИТЬ: почта поддержки / support email] with your login; we will delete the account manually after confirming it is yours.

Data stored without an account is deleted in the app: “Profile” → “Clear data on this device”, or by uninstalling the app.

Security

HTTPS only. Passwords are stored as salted scrypt hashes. The session is a signed HttpOnly cookie that page scripts cannot read. API keys are kept on the server only. Login and deletion attempts are rate-limited. Only the team has access to the server.

Your rights

You can ask what data we hold about you, correct it, get a copy, delete it or withdraw consent. Write to [ЗАПОЛНИТЬ: почта поддержки / support email] — we reply within 30 days. If you are in the EU or the UK, you may also complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

The service is not intended for children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you learn that a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will appear on this page with a new date. We will announce material changes in the app. The rules of using the service are in the Terms of Use.
